Welcome! We're going 100% virtual

Monday, July 6th Event Information

To find your Monday morning Zoom link, please check your email. You should have received an email from Stephanie Olivas (solivas@coloradoedinitiative.org) on June, 29, 2020. You should have also received a second email on July 5, 2020. If you do not see an email from Stephanie, please login to our CEI Zoom help line: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88307192669.

Session Start Times

Session start times depend on the session that selected. If you signed up for a 9:00am start, then your session begins at 9:00am. Please note that we have start times at 9:00am, 10:00am, and 11:00am. All start times are in EST (Eastern) time.

Your presenter will set the schedule for the week on Monday morning. They reserve the right to change the daily schedule to fit their instructional needs. We strongly advise that you are available for 8 hours after your session start time. Your presenter will take attendance each day to ensure that everyone receives a 30-hour Certificate of Completion. Finally, sessions will not be recorded for later viewing. Participants may not record any portion of the APSI for later use per College Board policy.

This Zoom Guide will walk you through downloading Zoom, joining Zoom meetings, using Breakout Rooms, and general best practices when using Zoom. Zoom is free; you do not need a professional, paid account to participate.

Other Items Needed

1. Reliable internet access

2. A webcam to use the Video option in Zoom

3. A reliable desktop or laptop computer

4. A quiet, well-lit space in your home

5. Casual attire – we want you to be comfortable!

We have ordered College Board bundle materials for each of you. Please know that the College Board prints and ships the materials directly. We do not ship materials or have tracking information about where your materials might be. If you have not received your materials by July 6th, please let your presenter know on Monday morning so they can ensure you receive digital copies of the materials.

Certificates of Completion

Certificates of completion will be emailed to you after the APSI. Please do not confuse certificates of completion with graduate credit hours. Unfortunately, we cannot offer graduate credit hours this year.

We will send Outstanding Balance emails on Monday, July 6th. If you receive that email, it is because we have not received payment from you or your school. Please forward that email to your billing contact. If you want to pay online via credit card, please visit our Payment Options page. If we do not receive your payment by July 6th you will not lose your spot in the training.

If you need help on Monday morning, or anytime during the week, please jump on a CEI staffed Zoom at any point between 8:00am and 4:00pm MST: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88307192669

If you have questions, use our Contact Us form.

In keeping with the models to protect the general public, attendees, consultants and staff, the Colorado Education Initiative AP for All 2020 Capstone Summer Institute will host all sessions in a virtual environment rather than a face-to-face model. Virtual training will remain synchronous and teachers are expected to participate in real-time.

For more information, please visit our Virtual Resources page.

Welcome to the AP for All 2020 AP Capstone™ Summer Institute registration site. Teachers and staff from schools approved by the College Board to offer AP Capstone courses – AP Seminar and AP Research – may attend this training. First year teachers of AP Capstone courses are required to complete professional development before teaching either course.

If your school has not yet applied to offer the AP Capstone Diploma Program, please complete this application prior to PD registration: https://collegeboard.force.com/APCapstone/s/

The AP Capstone professional development summer workshop trains instructors to teach college-level thinking and research skills while exploring academic and real-world questions, problems, and issues from different disciplines and from multiple perspectives. Special focus is given to facilitating student learning in collaborative settings, while motivating students to think critically and innovatively about research questions.

If you have questions about your school’s eligibility to offer AP Capstone courses, please contact apcapstone@info.collegeboard.org.
