This 6-hour online workshop is for experienced AP teachers and includes the following topics:

  • Course and Exam Description and Course Planning 
    •  Review each section of the Course and Exam Description and connect it to the curricular requirements.
    •  Develop a semester or yearlong instructional plan incorporating course units, topics, and skills.
  •  Expanding AP Opportunities 
    •  Explore strategies for creating a supportive AP classroom for a wide range of students.
    •  Discuss ways to encourage participation in AP, including among students who have been historically underrepresented.
  •  Instructional Strategies and Pedagogical Tools 
    • Identify instructional strategies and tools that can be incorporated into lesson plans.
    •  Connect classroom instruction to the content and skills outlined in the Course and Exam Description.
  •  Using AP Classroom 
    •  Use student data from AP Classroom to examine skill and practice development.
    •  Apply AP Classroom resources and data to lesson planning.
    •  Reinforce connections among course topics, skills, and practices.
  •  Assessment and Reflection 
    • Use the Instructional Planning Report to identify student strengths and areas for growth.
    •  Analyze AP Classroom and Instructional Planning Report data.
    •  Reflect on the implications of student performance data for future instruction.

The format is online using Blackboard Ultra with Zoom. Participants will receive the most up to date Course and Exam Description in digital format.
