PWISTA Online One-Day In-Year Workshop, Saturday, October 3rd, 2026

Looking for support as you prepare for the upcoming teaching semester or want to refresh and strengthen your AP curriculum? Join us for our Annual Online AP Workshop, designed to support both novice and veteran AP teachers.

This year, we are excited to offer eight distinct AP courses, led by consultants who are among the best in their respective fields. Whether you are teaching AP for the first time or looking to enhance your current practice, these workshops will provide practical strategies, resources, and guidance to help you build a successful AP classroom.

What You Will Learn

Our sessions provide comprehensive support with the AP Course and Exam Description (CED), with a focus on turning College Board expectations into effective classroom practice. Participants will explore:

• Course Planning & Sequencing: Examine the CED in depth and develop effective plans for sequencing content, skills, and assessments while maintaining alignment with curricular requirements.
• Instructional Strategies: Identify and apply a variety of instructional strategies and classroom tools that effectively address the content and skills outlined in the CED.
• Building an Inclusive AP Classroom: Explore strategies for creating an engaging, supportive learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learners and expands access to AP courses, particularly among students who have been historically underrepresented in AP programs.
• Connecting Content and AP Skills: Learn how to make meaningful connections between course content, instructional practices, and the AP skills and practices emphasized by the College Board.
• Using AP Classroom Data: Learn how to use student performance data from AP Classroom to strengthen instruction, inform lesson planning, reinforce connections between course topics and AP skills, and monitor student progress.
• Interpreting the Instructional Planning Report: Examine how to use the Instructional Planning Report to identify student strengths and areas for growth and make informed instructional decisions.

Designed for AP Educators at All Levels

Through guided discussions, examples, and practical applications, participants will have opportunities to reflect on their current teaching practices, identify areas for growth, and develop strategies they can immediately implement in their classrooms.

Whether you are new to AP, an experienced AP teacher, or simply looking for an opportunity to update your curriculum and instructional approach, this workshop is designed to provide the support and resources you need for a successful semester.
