Question: How do I register for the Novi APSI?
Answer: It's easy!  Get started here.  You'll need your College Board username and password to start the process.  
Question: What are the dates and time of the event?
Answer:

The Novi APSI runs Monday, July 29 through Thursday, August 1 starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 4:30 PM each day. 

Question: Will I earn State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECH)?
Answer:

Yes! Michigan educators can earn 30 SCECHs through our sponsor, University of Michigan.  Out-of-state educators will be provided proof of participation documentation to file for continuing education clock hours in their state.

Question: How do I pay?
Answer:
There are several ways to pay.  We accept credit card, check, or purchase order.  You will select payment method when you register.  If you are paying with purchase order you will need the PO number at time of registration.

Question: What is the different between O Captain! Education LLC. and the Novi AP Summer Institute?
Answer:

O Captain! Education LLC. is the company that runs the Novi AP Summer Institute.  In other words, O Captain! Education LLC. is the company whereas Novi AP Summer Institute is the event.  Payments should be made to O Captain! Education LLC.  Payments made to Novi APSI or Novi High School or Novi Community School District cannot be accepted.  

Question: How do I get a W9 for O Captain! Education LLC.?
Answer:

Question: What happens if I cannot attend for some reason? Do I get a refund?
Answer:

If cancellation is made on/before June 28, 2019 participants can get a full refund less a $50 registration fee.  If cancellation is made on/before July 5, 2019 participants can get a full refund less a $100 registration fee.  After July 5, 2019, no refunds can be granted. 

Question: What does the cost of tuition include?
Answer:

Tuition includes 30 hours of instruction, 30 SCECH, AP College Board publications, course materials from presenter, daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks. 

Question: How do I know if I'm registered?
Answer:

After you completed the registration process you will receive a confirmation email almost immediately.  If you have not received one, please contact Kristin Franchi at 248-979-7812 or kristin.franchi@noviapsi.org. Please do not assume you are registered if you have not heard from us officially.

Question: What is the attendance policy?
Answer:

30 clock hours are required by the College Board for completion of the institute.  In order to receive your certificate of completion, you may not come late or leave early.  Fee still remains payable regardless of attendance record.  It is the responsibility of the registrant and/or school to notify the Novi AP Summer Institute of cancelation.  If institute is not notified of cancellation, the participant/district is still responsible for paying the full tuition. 

Question: What should I wear?
Answer:

There is no dress code.  Most participants dress casually.  All the classrooms are air-conditioned so a sweater or light jacket is recommended. 

Question: What should I bring?
Answer:

Your consultant will be in contact prior to the institute to inform you of specific needs.  A laptop is not required but is often helpful.  

Question: Do you offer scholarships?
Answer:

Through three scholarship programs, the College Board offers qualifying teachers at schools without funding for professional development the opportunity to attend a week-long AP Summer Institute for free.

Question: I earned a scholarship, what do I do now?
Answer:

You should complete the registration process.  During the payment step you'll have the opportunity to select scholarship as your payment option.  

Question: Can I register by phone?
Answer:

We encourage all registration through our site.  However, if there are extenuating circumstance that prevent you from registering online you may call Kristin Franchi to register at 248-979-7812. 

Question: Can I register a participant without knowing their identifying information yet?
Answer:

Yes, as this may be the case if a teacher has not been hired yet.  It is recommended that you register using a valid email address connected to the school (secretary, AP Coordinator, department chair, etc.) and update the registration when the identifying information is known. 

Question: Can a session be canceled?
Answer:

Yes, a subject area session may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment.  In that case, a full refund will be issued. 

Question: How do I receive an invoice?
Answer:

An invoice will be automatically emailed to the participant after registration is completed.  If an additional invoice is needed please contact Kristin Franchi at 248-979-8712 or kristin.franchi@noviapsi.org
