APSI Biology at NCSU

North Carolina State University is pleased to offer an AP Biology Summer Institute July 8-12, 2019.  Although this workshop is designed to prepare new and beginning teachers (0-4 years of AP Biology experience),the College Board is recommending all AP teachers of all levels attend an APSI institute this summer.  Participants will learn about the new up-to-date (REVISED for Fall 2019) changes to the AP Biology curriculum, exam format, many new resources to support instruction and changes in the AP Audit.

Participants will receive practical advice on providing interactive laboratory exercises, tips on planning an AP course, a review of the AP Biology testing process, practical teaching ideas, and other helpful information for AP Biology teachers.  Other workshop activities will include sample testing and evaluation in an AP course, sharing ideas and experiences with other teachers.   The consultant instructor and additional laboratory instructors have extensive experience with AP Biology and teaching a variety of high school and college courses.


North Carolina State University is pleased to offer one-week workshops designed to prepare new and beginning teachers (0-4 years of AP experience) for Advanced Placement courses in Biology. Workshops meet on the campus of North Carolina State University from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday and end at noon on Friday. Early-bird registration ($700/week before June 1) or regular registration ($750/ June 1 and later) includes all course materials, daily lunch and snacks, parking permits, and transportation to field trip sites. Lodging is available for out-of-town participants. A deposit of $100 is required to reserve a seat in the class. Completed application materials should be submitted as early as possible, but will be considered at any time until the class is filled.
